How to Manufacture a Workbench

Benchmaster is a major UK workbench manufacturer, we’ve been making workbenches for over 40 years and as you can guess, we are an expert in the creation of them. Practice certainly does make perfect…

In this video, we show you behind the scenes of manufacturing a bespoke workbench, the images show our team in the different stages of the manufacturing process.

These images were taken in our premises in Mossley, Lancashire. Mossley is located close to Manchester and we manufacture every single one of our workbenches on these premises so you can be sure that when we deliver them to you, they are 100% British-made.

Once this manufacturing process commences, it usually takes less than a day to fully complete a workbench. The manufacturing process includes frame fabrication, powder coating, assembly, final preparation and preparing for dispatch.

A little bit about these processess…

Frame fabrication – this includes the team manufacturing steelwork components that will, when assembled and joined, form a complete frame. We complete this based on our customer’s specifications.

Powder coating – the Benchmaster team covers the workbench with a powder which is then heated to fuse into a protective layer. Powder coating protects the strongest machinery, it provides a durable finish whilst also still being attractive. It can be used on a range of surfaces including steel, metal and plastic.

Assembly – the team now can put the workbench together.

Final preparation – checking the workbench is up to standards, every customer requirement is met and getting it ready for dispatch.
